The ninth annual Artists with Conviction Exhibition opens today featuring work produced by prisoners as well as people on Community Corrections Orders, and Corrections staff.

This year’s theme “Crossroads” displays several forms of artworks, including painting, drawing, photography, textiles, sculpture and literacy.

The exhibition aims to increase awareness of the critical role rehabilitation plays in reducing reoffending, and the importance of providing meaningful and productive programs for people in prison.

It officially opens tonight, and can be viewed by the public for free at the Moonah Arts Centre.

The exhibition will be on display until 16 November.
